I imagine that everyone has heard of the BTO Bird Atlas by now and will have contributed in some way to collecting data for this project.
We are now in the second phase (breeding birds) of the third year of the Atlas work, with one year left to go.
I would like to offer the services of the AOS over a (long) weekend next year (2011) to cover a number of roving surveys of unvisited tetrads in some of the more inaccessible areas of the country.
I do not envisage the tetrads being far apart but they may be in Central Glasgow/Manchester or, more likely some island off the coast of Scotland. The Rebublic of Ireland is an outside possibility.
I will arrange transport and rations etc and have a clear idea of our destination before April next year. With a possible Canada trip on the cards I will deconflict by a couple of weeks.
All I need now is to know who may be up for the challenge?
